My aunt lived in Kirtland off Chillicothe Rd. I lived closed enough that as kids we would ride our bikes from Willoughby to the country club to caddy for a few bucks in the summer. (3-4 hours and hope for a $5 tip). (better clientele than Lost Nation and they didn't get as drunk so the play went faster also). My buddy got to caddy for Billy Graham one day. (tipped him well as I recall).
When we first started driving, taking your girlfriend out to Kirtland at night to look for the "melonheads" was a popular (and cheap) option.
We always made a stop at Gravity Hill. Back then there was little to no traffic there at night.
We were members of the Holden Arboretum when it was not much more than protected property with a locked gate. They had some really nice bluegill ponds. I don't even know if they still allow you to fish there.
