Hi all. Just got my first mirrorless camera, the Z6 II, which has been exciting! However, my SD card, a Sandisk Extreme Pro 128gb, came in today, and has been causing trouble.

Over the weekend I was playing with the camera with no card and deleting images. Everything was smooth and fantastic. After inserting the SD card today, my camera has frozen several times and thrown an error about the card itself. I’ve only been capturing images with it, and per the research I did, this card ~should~ be find for pictures.

…is this common with these cameras or did I just get really unlucky with my first SD card? I didn’t want to buy a CF card but now it feels like I might need to. I’m coming from a Nikon D300, which literally never gave me issues after years of use, so just confused by this.

Hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced this and can lead me in the right direction. Thanks!!

Welcome!
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your new set up. While not a mirrorless user, first if you haven't already done so is to format the card in camera and retest. It is also possible to get a bad card or a fake card were it appears to be a brand name card but isn't, if you have another card to test try that. Also try setting the SD as your primary slot if it is the only card you are using.

Other than formatting the card in camera, I don't really have any advice about that particular card. Have you tried a different sd card just to see if it works? Make sure you format any card in camera before shooting, of course. :) Good luck and welcome.
