help with wifi on my coolpix s3700

Hi guys, never use forums for help because usually google does the trick but I have no idea what to do.
My coolpix s3700 has a built in wifi connection that allows me to connect to it with my phone and transfer images to my iphone.
However, when I go to my settings app on my iphone and try to connect to my camera, it says "negotiating, please wait..." and infinitely loads until my iphone prompts me to switch since there's no connection.
I've tried looking to see if there's any firmware issues with my camera but on nikon downloads centre there is no option for firmware updates for my camera so i don't know what's up.
Help please!!

From the S3700 Reference Manual page 101 (still available online at Nikon)
3. While “Negotiating... Please wait.” is displayed on the
camera, start the “Wireless Mobile Utility” installed on the
smart device.
• The screen for selecting “Take photos” or “View photos” is displayed.
• When the message “Cannot connect to camera.” is displayed, return to step
1 and retry the procedure.
• “Installing the Software on the Smart Device” (A100).

Do you have Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility installed on your iPhone? It is obsolete for a number of years now.

I guess I should say "unsupported" instead of obsolete. Give downloading the utility a try and see if it runs on your version iOS. Then follow the directions I copied.
