Hi I just bought the D7100 10 days ago and when I went to turn off the camera nothing happened. The switch was in the off position and I was still able to take pictures, I had to remove the battery for it to turn off. Should I return this camera now before I start to run into more problems with it, I have 4 days left to decide.

Hello and welcome..........................:)...You should not be able to take pictures if the switch is in the off position. Take it back there is a serious fault with the camera.

Thank you for the quick response. Yes even in the off position I was able to take pictures but nothing was showing up on the LCD and was able to toggle the switch back and forth with the camera staying on the whole time.

I would return while you still can. After saying that, is it new or a refurb and did you purchase it locally?

Thank you guys for your input I am going to return it asap, It was from Be#$B%y and I had to order it online and they messed up and gave me 2 of them and charged me twice, The other one I returned already that they messed up on my order and gave me was an open box as well and I checked the shutter count and it had over 7000 shots taken already.

Digital cameras are like little computers. Computers will sometimes freeze (get confused) and you have to re boot them by unplugging the cord.
In this case by taking the battery out.
I would take it back if you still can. Mine did it once, a while ago. Nothing to really freak out about.
