Heated Gloves

Have any nature/bird photographers tried shooting in the very cold weather with a pair of heated gloves. There are many types but most are just sale pitches with third party links for buying.

I wear lighter weight fabric gloves with grippy pads on the palms and fingers usually. Then I keep a pair of rechargeable electric hand warmers in my coat pockets and shove my hands there between shots.

Really it is the fingers that need the direct heat. Do the heated gloves put coils running down fingers? I would wager not.

I’ve been struggling with numb fingers during sunrise shoots lately. It’s always a trade-off between staying warm and actually being able to feel the shutter button!

FINGERLESS WOOL GLOVES DO FOR ME. IF THAT IS NOT WORKING, I'LL LOOK FOR SOMEPLACE WARMER.

I have a pair of knit gloves that I cut half of the index finger and thumb off. That allows me dexterity for the controls and covers all but a small portion of my hands. I had a pair of gloves that have half fingers, with a mitten covering that you can pull over the fingers, or pull back and leave fingertips exposed. I liked them, but one of the pair grew legs and walked.

Of course, in my area it's rare to get into the upper teens. I believe the coldest I've seen when out shooting was 28 degrees.
