Besides, the '5300 is waaay capable and it's small and light enough, even wearing that 10-24mm, that it's no big deal to tote around. I'd be more inclined toward the 35mm f/1.8G, myself, but that's just me...

I actually thought about taking the 20mm f/2.8 and the 35mm f/1.8G, so I can go wide or go standard. That should fit in my small bag and be decent carry-on, rather than using the heavier laptop/camera combo bag.

I tend to over-pack, so I'm a little gun-shy of showing up for a week in Vega looking like I packed the kitchen sink. But if I bring just a prime or two, that should be good enough...
