He must have been scared of my Nikon!

Well, I now have proof that a Nikon full frame, high resolution camera will inspire fear and awe in the local wildlife.

It was shot with my Z8 using a Nikon 200-500 F5.6 with the FTZ adapter. Settings are 500mm, 1/3000 sec, F5.6 and ISO 1600. I had the Z8 in manual exposure mode with auto ISO. I also used 3D autofocus tracking with bird object detection. I would prefocus on the feeder, and when the birds would hover near the feeder, the AF would generally snap onto the eye of the bird fairly quickly, and follow them as they hovered. Sometimes it would lock onto another part of the bird, or occasionally the background, but it worked fairly well, given the size of the birds and their speed.

The large white blob in the background is actually the door of the ticket booth at Cypress Gardens, where the photo was taken. They have hummingbird feeders set up in a narrow strip of flowers and small trees between the parking lot and the park itself. It's an interesting place with a large expanse of trails through the swamps, which are mostly old rice fields from the 18th and 19th century.

FYI, there are numerous addons that will read the EXIF data in image files and provide you with wealth of info about the camera, lens and settings of the shot.
