I love trees with bark like this, but I've always found them amazingly difficult to capture in a way that's as interesting as just standing there and looking at it. It's a really hard thing to do and I don't know that I've ever managed to do it well. I think you have in the first shot here, particularly in the bottom 2/3. And while the foliage is lovely, I think it runs too long vertically (and it's leaning left a touch) which gives me too much distraction at the top. I'm thinking a crop just at where the branch breaks off to the left might be better.

I appreciate hearing this, Jake. A little later I will see if I can edit the photo. :)

Thanks, Roy. I was surprised to see there were still colored leaves on the trees being as it is later than usual for them. Even yesterday I was amazed with the number of trees STILL holding their leaves. This year is the most colorful fall I can ever remember here.

This is Micah--the latest rescue cat we adopted this past September. She is enjoying her new life here. There is an organization in North Carolina that makes pets available for local rescue agencies to promote for adoption by raising money so cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies get transported up to New Jersey at no cost to the local rescue agencies. The local agencies then make these pets available to the public for low cost fees.

Micah's name was originally Hunter (female) but I have no other background on her. She was spayed before arriving here, and I had her microchipped as a precaution. I really miss Angel, the mother cat of Cherub as Angel was the most loving cat I've ever known. Micah is a diluted calico, and Angel was a diluted torti so their coloring is very similar. Micah has a terrific personality and LOVES playing with the laser pointer!

@Marcel -- thanks for posting about your Nikon 180mm f/2.8. Although this lens wasn't on my radar and isn't one I needed, I found one locally for a great price in excellent condition. My Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 is just too heavy for me to handhold since I have forearm tendonitis so this lens will come in handy! ;)

Isn't is a great lens? :) I'm sure glad I got mine.

Yes, the Nikon 180mm is stellar! I only bought it today then ordered a CP filter and a UV filter via B&H. Sheesh...the filter order was processed almost immediately and was shipped already! I should have them tomorrow!

Went back through photos taken in October. This was taken from the top of Bowman's Hill Tower. I believe the closest bridge is the New Hope--Lambertville Bridge. Not sure of the other bridge's name.

Wow Hark you do nice work!

Thanks kindly. It did take a little while to get everything set. The candles and the cross on the Communion table were hidden and needed to be placed and lit, doors up in the choir loft were open, the piano needed to be uncovered, lights turned on, etc. Definitely worth it though IMHO. :)
