Hi I am testing a lens I picked up cheap ( $50AU ) a Tamron 28-200mm AF Aspherical LD 1: 3.8-5.6 (IF) on a F50 Nikon , I am not sure about keeping it but enjoy playing :) . So one photo of scrap gold shot with my favourite 50mm 1.8G the other with said Tamron ! can you tell !
50mm 1/10sec f/5.6
28-200 0.4sec f/11 @ 124mm scrap.jpgscrap2.jpg
both ISO 100

I'll take a punt, 2nd shot is the 50mm. Just looks a tad sharper to me. Either way, at web sizes it is hard to tell. Print both and the difference will be much more obvious IMO.

That Tamron is a sweet lens for travel. It's so light and small. I am keeping my copy for sure. Have a look at my Vietnam gallery. This is the lens I take when I'm traveling with my D600 and it just does the job. Is it the sharpest lens around, no, but it can get shots that other bigger lens won't since people will notice you less with this one than the 70-200 2.8 mounted on your camera.
