This is a Blue Heron. I will be here some tomorrow but will be gone from Friday night until Saturday the 24th late so I won't be posting.

Nikon D7000 with a Nikon 70-200VR F2.8 and a Nikon 2x TC-20E III shot hand held.

My wife and I have been gone all week with our boys and their families to a cabin up in the Smokey Mountains. This is one of the visitors that we had just off the back porch of our cabin that showed up each night for a handout.

I was driving through the mountains in Tenn. and spotted this so I reached down and grabbed the camera off the floor and took this photo through the front windshield while I was driving.

Really clean windshield!

It just so happened that my camera was on 70mm and shot at F2.8 which pretty much made the windshield disappear. My camera was on the floor between my front seats so I just grabbed it with my right hand pointed it in the right direction and pushed the shutter button. I had no idea what the settings were until I just looked at the EXIF data after you mentioned the windshield.

My Jeep has a flat windshield so it's always dirty or buggy ('specially June and September with love bugs)!
