whats the lighthouse look like from the pier?

The first view is from the visitor center across the street where you can see the whole layout including the pier. The second shot is a night view if you were standing by the pier and turned around. There is a four lane hyway that runs along the coast line and has two lanes on either side of the lighthouse.

Thanks Pat, the lighthouse is the most photographed site on the gulf Coast and probably in the state.

This is only the second time I have ever seen an eagle in the wild and I spotted it today. This is a heavy crop and shot with a Nikon 70-200VR with a 20E III 2x extender using a D600 handheld.

Very nice shot. We have a growing population in this area and although I have not gotten this close I have seen 4 down by the river this week.

Photoshop CS5 is what I use for all my photos.

Thanks Marcel and Roy for you comments, they are very much appreciated!!! After taking several shots I decided to get out my tripod to get a better shot and just as I got it set up and was attaching the camera he flew off.
