thats the same lighthouse in post #1683, just looking the opposite direction Jeff?

Roy, you are exactly correct. I am standing in the 3rd floor of the parking garage of the Beau Rivage Casino you see in the middle of the other picture. You really do look at my pictures!!!!! Thanks for noticing.

This was taken handheld without any support of any kind with my D600, Nikon 70-200VR lens with my Nikon 20E III 2X converter. The distance is 35ft and the piece with the writing on it is one of the covers off of a car battery. Other than to re-size and crop these are right out of my camera. 200mm times 2X converter is equivalent to 400mm. I only took one shot and it would have probably been a lot better using a tripod but I still think it came out pretty well. You can see the little cap with the writing on it was leaning back.

100% crop

My son was carving pumpkins late this evening and I went out and got a shot of him in action. D600 with a Nikon 70-200VR and a 20E III 2X teleconverter shot handheld at ISO 6400. Right out of the camera except to re-size so I could post it.

nice shot of your son Jeff, back in the 70's my dad used to carve out a turnip for us at Halloween, i tired this with my kids, cramp in my hands before i even got half way into it, pumpkins are so much easier, but eating the boiled then fried turnip was real tasty.

This is a mushroom in a yard I was driving by so I shot it from the open window of my car. D600 with Nikon 70-200VR using a 20E III 2X teleconverter shot handheld.

My wife and I went to the Hard Rock Casino Hotel and restaurant today for lunch and I shot this from the fifth floor of their parking garage.
