Thanks for all the replies and comments. I was going through a parking lot when I saw this yellow Hibiscus so I pulled up near it and shot it out the open window of my car. Used my D600 with the Nikon 70-200VR lens.

I have some good news to share with everyone. I was contacted yesterday by a magazine that found my website and pictures and they want to use some of my pictures. The magazine is not National Geographic but it does cover Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. This is the third time that someone has contacted me to use my pictures by using Google and finding my website. I'm a happy camper!!!

This is a picture from yesterday while Henry and I were out shooting and the subject was probably about 300ft or so from me.

But who's to say for sure if Henry didn't take this picture… :) Can't wait to see Henry's watermark. ;)

This is the biggest alligator I have ever taken a picture of. In Gautier, Ms. the schools mascot is the Gators and this is found on one of the main streets in Gautier.

I guess Henry was to short to see out the window.

Thanks Marilynne and Pat. My goal in the next ten years is to hopefully have my name mentioned in conversations at least in my city or along the coast when photography is the topic. In Ocean Springs where I live art is a pretty big thing so I am trying to get as much exposure (get the pun) as I can so getting a few pictures in this magazine will surely be a good thing.

I forgot to show it but my helper and student, Henry, went with me and was getting in to shooting the Egrets and other birds. With the enthusiasm that he shows and willingness to get the best angle for taking the shot, I think he will become a top notch photographer.
