This is a huge balloon that has a round platform below that people stand in and they let it go up high into the air so you can see around the city of Pigeon Forge, Tn. Note the people in the round platform below the balloon. Also notice that this is NOT a hot air balloon and is raised and lowered by a cable on a winch. It is hard to believe but it must be full of helium.

This is a picture that I took a couple of years ago in Cades Cove near Gatlinburg, Tn. shot with my Nikon D90 and Sigma 17-50 F2.8 lens. No sharpening was applied to this picture.

My family will be going on vacation June 20th thru the 26th to Pigeon Forge, Tn. which is below Knoxville and next to Gatlinburg so I probably won't be posting much if any during this time. See you in about a week with some pictures, I hope.

Have a great time on Vacation... It is a pretty area although a tad "touristy"

I saw a tutorial by Bill Fortney shot at Cades Cove in the fall/winter. Looks like a wonderful place to shoot.

I took this shot near Townsend, Tn on the way to Cades Cove. Here you can see the fog a little closer that gave the Smoky Mountains it's name.
