Got a new dog yesterday

After about 3 months it looks like Daisy is gone forever.:apologetic:
Max is getting pretty lonely plus we love Rotties so here is, ( We have no idea what we're going to call her yet) The Rottweiler.:)

The lady we got her from has to let her go for personal reasons, and we went to pick her up last night.

She is adjusting ok so far. Max and her already had a fight, but it was my fault. I fed them too close to each other. A few scrapes and some scratches, but all is fine now.

Her name is Helen, but it is a problem. My mom's name is Helen and it feels weird calling my dog that name. LOL
I'm putting a few more pics in the pet thread in a few minutes.

Can anyone think of a name that sounds like Helen. She is really good coming to me when I call her, so I don't want to change it to anything that doesn't sound close.

Yes, Ellen is a name. Also tried Helena as well. We'll see what sticks.
Thanks Michael. She is really well behaved for her first day with us. Seems like a real take it easy dog.

You can basically use any name you like. Once you repeat it enough, they'll learn to associate.

My "bitch" was called Taco when I got her which I didn't fancy too much. Now she's called Bob.

I really like Rotties. The one I had was a really loyal dog. Looked and acted ferocious, but would have probably licked most people to death. Ha! I miss that guy. Looks like Lilly will be a great addition to your household. Great looking dog.

Well, it looks like Lilly and Max are working things out. She is learning when it's ok to go and try to play with him and when to just walk around and to leave him alone.
Although she is not scared of him, she does let him go through his dominating ritual and submits to his BS. LOL

Introducing another dog into the family can be work and require some time.

When I got a second, I had to observe closely for a week and interfere a couple of times else she'd had offed the pup. Then suddenly they're best friends and the one doesn't go anywhere without the other.
