Good Morning Everyone!

So, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to things. I've had a Nikon D40 for a couple years that I got from my ex, but it wasn't until a buddy of mine showed me what I could do with it that I actually started using it. It's an older body, I've only got the one lens and a tripod, but I'm making the most of it. Someday I'll upgrade, but first I'd like to build up a few lenses.

I realized I needed a community of people to help me out, show me some tricks, critique what I've got, and share what I'm proud of. My buddy is on this site, so I figured it's a good place to start.

I'm excited. I've always loved taking pictures, but now I can't put the damn thing down!

Everything I like that I have so far is on my SmugMug, which is in my profile and such.

Thanks!

I'll upload one I took today! It's in one of my galleries on SmugMug. Had to learn to resize in photoshop, thankfully my wife is a graphic designer. Haha.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I think I'll be just fine here.

Here's a picture I took last night, trying to get some of the meter shower. Right up until something happened and all my shots faded out. I think the sensor got too hot. Sadly, no meteors.
