Getting excited..

With only 10 days to go before I take off for Africa I am getting nervous and excited.
In 3 days I start taking my Malaria pills which I am hoping I do not get any bad side effects from! I will be providing updates in regards to any side effects.

Now with the release of the new 80-400mm which will be released a day before I fly out I am wondering whether I should get it or not. Or even if I will have the chance to get it.

I have a week of nightshifts and then only 2 days to sort out my packing and weights. I think I have it all sorted and the way I want it.

Now the true count down begins... 10--->

laughs,, yup,, someone must have been monitoring your blog,, and they decided to release this lens,, right when you were leaving,, The Lens Gods are being funny.

I am debating between carring my 300 F4 or my 80-400 on a trip next week, and yup,, it is that flexibility versus sharpness debate. but, I have decided on the flexibility. So, the 80-400 goes to Vegas baby! I have tested the lens enough locally to convince me that it is sharp enough.

Yeah I have enjoyed my 80-400 so it is definitely coming to Africa with me, but the new one would have been excellent as I would presume it would auto focus faster, but in saying that I think I will still manage with it on the D800.
