General Discussion or Travel Forum?

Hi Team,

Any chance of a travel section or such? I'm heading to USA in a couple of months for 4 weeks and wanted to ask a few general questions about certain areas to get advice on good places to go and see, plus tips on any cool photography opportunities n those areas?

Doesn't seem to be an appropriate sub-forum here for me to post such questions in?

That's an interesting suggestion and we'll have to discuss it but in the meanwhile why not start a thread in the "off topic" section. I'm curious what part of the US you're planning on visiting. Or have you worked that out yet?

Hi Dave - will do. And yes I have an outline itinerary worked out. Note I have been to USA before (LA & Vegas, flown over Grand Canyon) - but looking to get to a few different places this time.

And regarding original question it would be good to have a more specific area for these types of posts I think - so they don't get buried amongst the bad joke threads and other general 'noise'...

Actually it would be cool for people to list locations in various areas that have great scenery or things to photograph that are of interest..
Although, I'm finding it hard to imagine how many sub-sections there would have to be to cover the entire country! :p

This sounds good to me. Travel is always a great topic and we all love to see pics of places that we have been and want to go visit. We also enjoy posting pics of places we've been.

You could just have 1 thread per region or something for that... But best to keep it flexible - there's the rest of the world too remember... ;)

Agreed. I'm visting Ireland for a week next month and would love photo suggestions.
