so fatalistic in here. I'm still shooting film exclusively, still processing black & white at home and getting my color films developed locally. You just gotta know where to look, where the deals are, how important it is to you etc.
And despite a lot of film stocks not being produced any more, there are still great, great selections in both b&w and color.
I wouldn't write it off just yet.
I just got back into film a few months ago, and I'm enjoying it. I'm learning photography all over again just like you would in 1985, when my FE2 was sold in stores. I've only been using cheap Fuji Superia, but I plan to buy some professional film soon.
Not to quibble, but okay, I quibble - Fuji's Superia is "only" great film. I recently bought some Kodak Portra 160 and it's nice, and expensive, but I don't like it as well as Fuji's Superia 200 or 400. I'm taking 4 rolls of the 400 on my next mini vacation.
I pulled my Nikon f65 out at the beginning of December and shortly after that I purchased a mint Canon Elan 7 with three lenses. I then went to Adorama and ordered a selection of films. My plan right now is to shoot film exclusively until at least spring.

I picked up a fd 28mm 2.8 at a pawn shop for cheap as well but have not used it yet. What film do you use?I have 2 T70 slr's, in fact the one is the first SLR that I ever purchased. The second one I purchased off eBay as a spare and a parts camera. I still use both of them and they take excellent photos.
I'm not speaking from experience. I bought all of mine at Black's just a month ago. I bought all of their last 400 and 200 rolls here in Windsor. I just assumed this was consumer grade film, and then there's professional film. I have never bought professional film in my life. Thom Hogan doesn't care for Velvia. He prefers Provia. I just want to buy a few rolls of the best choice and do my best with it. I don't know how much better my pics will turn out.
