Fund Raiser Night

Hi All,

Tomorrow night I will be taking photo's for a fundraising night which will take place in the local parish hall. There is great lighting in the hall, so there will be no dramas when it comes to lighting. Plus no one will be moving/dancing as it is a "sit-down" night with dinner and games such as bingo, trivia, etc.

I am using my Nikon D5100. Are there any new suggestions for settings that I can try out?

Thank you! :) :)

Perfect oppurtunity to try out A, S modes, and if you're really adventerous, M & P mode too.

There are the 'scene' modes too, but just depends what you want to get out of the whole experiment

I used to use auto iso at these things, probably the only times I've ever used it. I'd lock in my minimum shutter speed and let my iso go to whatever the max was on my old d70. I would snap away hundreds of fun candid pictures without annoying flash and post them on the website. People loved digging through all the photos to find themselves or a friend. If there was a presentation or anything special I would switch back to some better settings and use flash if necessary, but mostly I kept my distance and tried to be unnoticed.
