Framing?

Guys, a simple question.
How do you apply a frame / border to your pics?
I was checking out the process for adding a frame in LR4 & the thing is so complicated, it just flew 10ft over my head.
Nothing fancy, just a simple frame for portraits & stuff like that

I use Nik software, it has all the various framing types. From black line to tattered paper, etc. But doing framing in LR-4 is as easy as pushing a lever to the left or right. Just go to the "Print" module and adjust the "stroke border". You can also change it from black to any color you choose.

By Nik software you mean View NX2 and/or Capture NX2?
i did go to the print module & stoke border and tried some adjustments to fit the frame on to the pic..
When i said print to jpeg, the output was a plain white blank image.. the image was missing.
am sure i did something wrong

laughs,, thought you were talking the old fashion framing which I just did last night on a set of photos. I typically just add a small border for online shots of white or black depending upon the shot by growing the image boundary in PS. There are out in the web lots of framing textures that you can add as a layer if you desire fancy.
