Flash queery

Hi all, newbie here, have recently purchased a D3200 and so far very impressed. Was speaking to a camera salesman and mentioned I was planning on using my Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash, he thought that it might not be compatible with the D3200. Just wanted your input, was he being truthful or do you think he only wanted me to part with even more of my hard earned cash. Your opinions are all welcome.

Easy way to find out. Stick it on your camera, take some pictures, and let us know what you think... If it works, you're golden. If it doesn't, you can tuck tail and go back and buy a new flash...

From what little I was able to find online there appears to be some disagreement about whether it supports Nikon's TTL or not but it appears the flash is perfectly safe to use on your D3200.

He just may not have had one to sell you. :)

The B&H page for it says it does do iTTL, so it should work on a D3100. However, B&H says "No longer available".
