First Paid Photo Session of Engagement Photos

I have been busy!!! I am sorry I have not been able to contribute much on here, since I last posted I have taken engagement portraits, senion portraits, office retirement party, and a few wedding receptions of friends getting married. I am posting my first paid gig taken for a couple here in a town close to where I live. I only charged them $200 and took over 400 photos. After a week of PP in Lightroom 4 here are a few of what I came up with. When I viewed the portraits with the lady for the first time she was brought to tears and that made me feel like I had accomplished what I was aiming for. Feel free to leave you feedback and suggestion for me because there is always room for improvement. Now remember I shot these in RAW and then had to resize them to fit on here so if they don't look clear or what not I can assure you the original file were large and very clear. Thanks for looking. I am far from an expert or qualified to judge... But... Let me say these look superb to me and if the client is happy, you done good!

Very, very nice. You have a good eye for composition and structure. I wouldn't change a thing about those shots. Well done, Jeremy! :)

If you can't write off $200 against the cost of your gear I'd be surprised. Just keep spending faster than you earn ( if that's possible). That would certainly work with the uk tax system, especially if you're a multi billion dollar international like Starbucks!!

With regards to the photos they are fantastic. This is the sort of thing I'd like to shoot but would always worry about messing it up.

I'm good at spending faster than I earn! I'm goona write off about $4k in business expenses this year :)

Yup, me too- I can sure spend it. My wife & I have come to the conclusion - spend it now while healthy and able to do stuff, the money is NOT going to do us any good when we are sick, unable to travel, etc.

Great photos, well done :)

That is great advice Jeff because I just went out today and purchased a Nikon 85mm f1.8G AF-S. I love this thing it makes the backround melt away to nothing. I had a wedding reception to shoot tonight for a friend of a friend and got to try it out, as soon as I am done with the PP I will post a new thread. Thanks to everyone who commented and "liked" most of you don't realize that the majority I have learned has come from this forum right here with all of you help so I say THANKS to you!!!
