First Outing

Was out on a photo taking walk with a friend when I got my camera a couple of weeks ago. Found this little guy on the rocks washed up by the ocean. I didnt prop him up so shot is as is. This was pretty much one of the first shots i have taken with my D3100. Let me know what you guys think.

What's interesting to me about this is exactly this statement. So in light of that, your photo might have had more impact and meaning if you had stepped back a little, maybe shot from a lower angle to include the environment you describe . . . more rock and surf with the bear as the focal point.

Yeah thanks. Now that you mention it a shot from a lower perspective would have been great. Still new to photography in general. Just have to get those knees wet next time :)

lol. I've taken some of my best shots while lying on the ground . . . (and it has nothing to do with drinking :cool:)
Experiment as much as you can in terms of composition and technique. That's what makes photography so much fun.
