These were taken with a Samsung WB150F. It was my first camera that I got about 7 months ago. I know it's not a DSLR but my mom didn't want to spend a lot on my first camera because she didn't know how serious I'd be. These were edited on my phone and a little bit on Photoshop at school. Keep in mind I'm self taught and have never had a class

Danny, welcome to the forum, but please, pretty please, read the forum's guidelines in this critic section before posting so many photos. The critic section stipulates to post only 1 photo per day. I don't know what your expectations are exactly, but it is quite hard to critic 6 photos at a time.

They are all clear, but it would be nice if we'd know what you were trying to picture and the point of all these at once.

Take your time, we'll be here for a while and I hope you will too.

Enjoy your Nikon!

Another welcome Danny... As Marcel indicated, take your time... read the rules and then post up one photo with your goals and the data of the shot (Shutter, F stop, Focal length (lens type (fixed or zoom range) and people here can and will help you.

I do not know if you can delete... (I am sure someone can advise but I could not see a way...)

You can contact the Admin JDEG, he can surely delete it... but regardless, why wait...

Just go ahead and put up a fresh post to the guidelines..

Yup. Atleast your out there figuring it out. Will you be purchasing a Nikon DSLR anytime soon?

Actually I just recently entered a Nikon High-school photography competition. There's a $2000 grant and a gooorgeous D7000 included with a few other prizes. But even if I don't win, let's say I get 3rd place, its a $500 grant that I'll use to get a nice one.

Welcome Danny. I am pretty new to photography but familiar with videography. From that basis I will share my thoughts.

Picture number ending in 04 - He needs to be framed going into the shot. Being off centered to the left and facing to the outside of the photo gives that feeling of him leaving. For me, I would love the shot if he was turned into the shot.

Picture 71 - Not sure what I am looking at but it's interesting to look at.

Picture 20 - For me, the blur in the lower left is distracting.

Picture 24 - I like it.

Again, I am not half the photographer many of these guys are on their worst day. I can only speak from my videography experience and simply what I like or don't. And welcome again. Great guys here.

Pictures 16, 88, & 96 - Why? What I mean is why am I looking at it? It's not telling me anything and it's not conveying any kind of a feeling or emotion which is why I ask "why?"

When framing your shot try not to shoot it like everyone would. Example, everyone stands upright with the camera to their eye and takes a picture. Find that different angle that makes your shot unique. A friend of mine, who is a professional photographer, showed me a spectacular picture he took of the Moab Arch (Google it, everyone has the same shot). He looked at the arch, saw tons of photo monkeys (amateurs and pros) sitting on the rocks taking the same picture. To not have the same shot as everyone else he hiked around a bit of a canyon for a different angle and it really made the shot because it was a different way of seeing the same arch that had been pictured literally millions of times.

And good luck on the photo contest.

Thanks for the criticism both negative and positive:) honestly the ones I took with the Nikon, I didn't even know why I took them except for the fact that I wanted to see how the picture quality was. But don't worry, they'll be better next time. Thanks for the good luck wishes as well

As already stated Danny, too many to talk about, but its obvious even as a beginner that you've tried to think about what you're doing with your subjects and the way you've composed them, which is a 1000 % more than the average snapper. Even with what is basically a point and shoot, you've still taken the the time to think. You're on your way I reckon, and a DSLR and a couple of decent lenses would help you improve. There's nothing like getting inspiration from other / better photographers' work and there's plenty here to get you inspired.

Be prepared to get dragged into that eternal abyss of aquiring camera gear

Get it on !
