Firmware update

New to DSLR/Nikon world... what's the common thought about these updates from Nikon. Update now, or let it simmer a bit to see if it could have bugs in it?

Nice catch @mikew. I'm still undecided whether I need it or not ... nothing in the change log seems to apply to behavior I've seen, so might wait for a few others to try first. :D

In general, I haven't heard of Nikon firmware updates being anything like Microsoft patches so I'm not usually concerned about new bugs coming into play. There's been some discussion about whether Nikon would try to limit third party accessories via firmware updates (batteries, 3rd party lenses, etc), but I haven't heard anything along those lines with the D7100.

I also do not see a direct affect for me... but I usually just install anyway so I have the latest updates. I have not had any trouble yet. :)
