Filter question

In my SLR film days I always kept a UV filter on each of my lenses for protection purposes. I believe that UV is not recommended with digital cameras. What would you guys and gals suggest I buy to achieve lens protection?

You really do not need to buy anything. The lens hood should be enough for any bumps etc and keeping the lens cover on when not in use is good too.

You will find a divided camp on the question. Just something you need to decide for yourself.

If you want protection, there are clear protectors. Just buy good quality from a good source.

I use UV filters on all of my lenses. I am not telling you to or not but if you decide to use them DO NOT get a cheap filter and place it in front of a nice piece of glass. Also make sure it is for digital and not for a film camera, there is a difference!!!
