Second entry…
Up until June of 2013, I worked in the Shipping department of the Campbell's Soup factory in Sacramento, California—a job that I thought would last until I was in a position to retire. Alas, the company had other ideas. Between improvements to all four of its main factories, and a decline in sales, the point was reached where only three factories were now needed, and the Sacramento factory, was shut down.
Yesterday, the factory was open to the public, to allow potential buyers to inspect a wide range of items to be auctioned off later this year. I took my wife there, so that I could show her where I used to work.
This picture is a 360° panoramic view of one of nine warehouse sections that were my turf when I worked here. When I left in June, this warehouse was still mostly full of product. Now, it is eerily bare—just a couple of machines, and some empty racks. That's my wife, sitting on an idle pallet wrapper.
This picture needs to be seen in higher resolution than here on this forum, to be fully-appreciated.
