Thank you Wud.. I have been a racing fan for years and was a big Richard Petty Fan in NASCAR years back. This reminded me (color) of his cars, it was referred to as Petty Blue! :)

Rick's is there... not sure why you cannot see it!!

Your car looks right out of a catalog! Very nice, where did you get the Jag?

For those who may not be following the challenge link on Flickr... I am gonna go ahead and share my entry here also...

Hope that you enjoy... I had another shot planned with a convertible but the conditions were not such to pull off what I wanted.. I got a couple decent shots but they did not "Pop"

REFERENCE Note of the Flickr Group#6...

Corey has 4 challenge dates but by my math, we only need 3 to wrap this up... Someone eliminated each challenge, 3 challenges means 3 of us are gone leaving only ONE! That Champ-een :)

Just googled Richard Petty, waaauw. Definitely Petty Blue, the color.

I see Ricks car now, yay, maybe I wasnt logged in to Flickr earlier. Cool picture :) Nice detail with the starshaped light. Did you use a polfilter? And did you, Pat? I dont have one, so I placed the car in the shade of a huge building.

Well, when I heard "automobile", first thing that popped into my head, were vintage/veteran car. So I wrote a club for these cars, and got lucky. I of course promised to send him some of the pictures, as a big thank you. And actually, the guy and his wife were SUCH nice people, I almost feel like calling them, I dont know, we just really hit it of. Normally I think I meet lots of kind people, just something special about those 2. So I'm glad we had to photograph a car :)

I have a polarizer but.. it does not fit this lens, had it with my kit lens and I never thought of it either!! :)

I also thought of vintage... Never thought to contact a club... There was a "Cruise Night" up north and I went there and got a couple shots but they would have been partial cars due to lighting and crowded conditions. Also a place that reconditions and sells, when there also crowded and would have had to shoot directly into bright sun. Did not even snap one!

That is great they met you to share the car!! Great job!

No polfilter on my lens. If you look at my Flickr feed you can see this is not the first time I have shot this car and in this position. If you look at the chrome (or what is left of it) I have gone through great lengths to make sure the camera is not in sight. One of my pet peeves when it comes to shooting chrome close.

Great photo's everyone one glad I'm not in Corey's shoes, I sure he knew this was not going to be easy. I'm looking forward to the next stage, even if I don't make the cut I'm still going to shot the subject. And that be the case that I don't make it I'll post in this thread so I can share with all of you.

Good luck tonight and see you on Spreecast.

They are all good! I saw WUD's and said, "oh my, that looks right out of the catalog!" Then I saw yours and began to wonder about mine.. What I wanted I shot yesterday but my location and lighting were not optiimal and I was rushed as on a break from work. All my fault.. but I learned alot.. and had fun!! I flip flopped between my best shot yesterday and the one I submitted and yesterdays just did not pop the same!!

Getting in the chrome, or even shiny paint is something I learned recently too!! Had a couple like that bite me but not until I went to process and said Oh Chit! :)

See you and everyone tonight!!

I was thinking the same thing, I'm having trouble with this one for sure. I'll
post something but I don't think it will be up to par with what has been
been posted already. You guys don't make it easy!

Shannon, do not worry about whats there... focus only on the challenge and your creativity. Make a photo you are happy with, for you are the final judge of your work. I have had some no-winners that I really liked and ws pleased and proud of. They were winners in my book and whatever you submit, if you like it, it is a winner!

Hope you can make the Spreecast, now go take that killer photo and know me out!! :)

Ok guys finally got mine up. Sorry for the delay I've been fighting a cold from hell and haven't felt like doing to much the past few days.
The bug I shot is back in the woods where I hunt. I've often thought about climbing in and using it as a blind.
