Softer lenses come into their own when you print the photo and look at them from a distance...that is when they "glow" if you will...hard to get that from a monitor screen unless the picture takes up the full screen and you stand about 10 feet away from it.

I hear you though...sharpness is in nowadays...I'm old fashioned and like the softer portraits...sharp is to clinical and sterile (for portraits/people pictures) for me.

Uh oh you all I am digging through my archives for the first time in quite a while... :)

This one is about 3 years ago...I grew up around and was taught and raised by some of the neatest folks and as such I guess I am pretty blessed...I also grew up around some of the baddest @ss cars ever made...this car has been around me for going on about 35 years now...I have seen it go through many permutations...black...red...knock offs...ralleys...slicks..you name it...327/350 4 speed all factory except for nowadays she is running headers, old school Brownfield aluminum angle plug heads, and a Holley of course.

Note - You really just can't shoot a car in a garage with a 50 even with full frame ;)

I'd love to have anything remotely similar to that in my backyard...it'd have a darkroom in the middle of it! :)

The harsh light on the steps and the mashed up DOF from the long lens and the vanishing point perspective are strong elements in this one.

It is a true HDR shot BTW. ;)

It looks like some of the old ruins in Mexico.
