I quit a two pack a day habit about 14 years ago. Was about as hard a thing as I have ever done. Worth the effort though.

I am really liking my A2 filter...I am thinking about getting another one and calling them my rose colored glasses... :cool:

Here is an Easter shot of the boy real soft but I like it (look at the bokeh in this one - that is some bokeh right there!)...and a few more of the dog (check out the last one!)...hope you all had a good Easter with your family. :)

i actually like the first dog better. The profile is interesting.

Awesome Jeff :) Happy Easter to you & your family :) I like the 1st dog better too. I don`t mind the softness on your son`s photo looks great.

Thanks fellas...

Look at the light in the last one - that is one big beam of sunlight almost hitting her face...dang uncooperative models...that is what is interesting about that snap and it's on the angle composition...that one is an "almost" photo... :)

A work in progress (from yesterday...more to come from today)...need to add some kids fishing off the dock..maybe change to 135mm too...got all spring and summer long!

Man it is dry but look at what I have here in my backyard...natural spring...running water...year round...several of them feeding a big creek. This farm is one of the wettest spots around a very dry area...

Got my 85 today! I am in camera lens lala land!!! hahaha

As soon as I got it home I opened the box and threw her on the D5000 and made a couple impromptu snaps...later tonight in the magic hour I might try to do something a little more studied...

It is heavier than my 105 and a little bigger around but it balances nicely with the D5K...tiny bit more difficult to focus maybe I still need to look at that closer though...

Oh you won't believe what I am fixing to throw up they are in the box already just got to do a little bit of post and then I can show you what the venerable 85/1.8 can do on a DX DSLR...stay tuned!

Here is a crop from the snap ^...this is a lens that renders a special sort of look and feel...it is soft but in focus with nice bokeh...shot in the shade...

I'm going to have to get used to it because I keep trying to shoot it like a 105...and it ain't no 105...I'm having trouble focusing through the viewfinder...going to try Live View next probably...it is pretty darn soft at any rate...
