Extra stop or AF?

Thinking what to try and get for my jump into the FX realm and I can think of 3 viable choices- 50 1.4G for decent all-aroundness; 55 1.2 AI because, 1.2 creamy nightscapeness; some basic zoom to have the power of zoom indoors w/ flash that I missed so much since I sold my only standard zoom a long time ago.

Can't go wrong with the 1.4 line. If your comfortable with manual focus, the 1.2 might be nice, but not a HUGE difference, so the AF might be nice to have depending on what your shooting. Landscapes, can't go wrong. Anything else... might miss the AF. Just my .02

I would try the 50mm F1.2 AIS, that is one of the sharpest lenses at f2. You can get it either new or preowned. The bonus is that there being no electronics or motor, it will last ages.

Just as an FYI, the difference between f/1.2 and f/1.4 is one-half (1/2) of one stop, not a full stop. I don't know if that will influence your decision in any way, but I thought I would clarify it for you.
