exif data and posted pics

Hi, I want to submit some samples/pics for eval. They are going to be jpeg and I have a D50, will all the info from the camera be included in the pics I submit? Thanks and is there a thread arleady existing that explains how to submit them?

As long as you didn't remove the EXIF data or copy, pasted the image into a new layer it should be included.

Some softwares out there can strip the EXIF without your knowing it. It's best to check the file with an EXIF reader before submitting.

If he uses Windows, when he selects an image in a maximised folder, at the bottom of it most EXIF data is displayed.

yes I use windows and all I did wast attach the cam to the computer via usb. Sent the folder to my pictures and renamed the folder so I know what's in the folder lol. And what is the size limit of said pics. I think I use jpeg fine.

I was looking at my other pics from another camera on my mac. I clicked on get info and the camera model shutter etc was there and I didn't do anything to them just saved as is. I should be ok then

You should be fine and you'll know for certain after posting the first.

For the feedback section it is better to add the EXIF data separately because for some people it does not show up automatically. Also limit your photos to 1 per post and 1 post a day. This will give you a better chance of people telling you what they think of your photo.

How to add a photo to a post.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

Depending upon what program you use, the EXIF remains included or disappears. In GIMP as long as I save all changes to the original shot, the EXIF remains but once I export to something else, I lose it. The same happens if you copy the shot to a layer and then save that one.

Other programs you have to select EXIF to include it. Even in RAW editors like LR you have to check if you have EXIF enabled on import or save.

The above image was imported from camera to View NX as nef, converted to tif and sent to a file folder. Opened the tif file in LR and then exported (implemented file dimensions, ppi, and metadata) as jpg to a file folder. Uploaded to this thread. Where can the photo information be seen?
