Nice Ford Focus. Have you been reading anything about the new Focus RS? Looks pretty cool, but none are on the streets or in the dealers here yet.

About a month ago, I went to shoot 2-4 shots at an event for the Porsche Club. It was on a Sunday morning after a busy Saturday night shoot/party and I neglected to put BOTH SD cards back in my 750. OUCH. Luckily, other members took some iPhone pics that looked fine in our newsletter. I'm an idiot some/most/all of the time. Depends on who you talk to.....

Actually, my biggest rookie mistake was the very issue that brought me to Nikonites for the very first time. Took my D600 to my wife's orchestra concert. They wanted a group shot afterwards. I framed the shot and fired away. What I didn't realize was that my fingers had accidentally hit the front button that changed from FX to DX. All of my shots cropped out the heads on the top row. I was too embarrassed to ever show them my pics.

I've found that taking my White Balance off [Auto] and setting it for prevailing light greatly helps to eliminate color adjustment PP, but I know I'll regret it someday when I forget to reset it. I shoot jpeg.

I've also done the leave-the-SD-card-in-the-computer routine, finding my error only after a long hike when a train I wanted to shoot was nearing. Fortunately my Girl Scout Leader wife was ready for survival and popped the SD card out of her Nikon and handed it to me.

I got all the way to the bird preserve...only to realize I had left my battery on the charger in the kitchen...I really should get a couple more batteries...I don't want to spend the $40 for them though...

I reckon I have made more rookie mistakes than most rookies over the years. But it is from these that we learn and grow. :)
