When you press the shutter release again does that fix it or is it dead?  Have you tried all the basics like removing the battery and letting it stay out for a minute and then trying again?  Seems like I remember another post like this sometime and it was a mirror stuck? I think that was on the D5100 though.  Do a search here on the forum for "Error press shutter release button again" and you can read the posts about it and see if that is the same problem you have.</blockquote>
