No luck from nikon technical site advice either. Asked me to switch off and then on. If no working send in to NSC. Quite obvious this is what I need to do when I get back.

OK sent in to NSC this morning. Confirm shutter and aperture mechanism problem. Only 10k actuations and it is gone.
Cost estimate is around $440 with the monto warranty. No choice would need to proceed. Could be just happen to this one that has a problem.
There is no prior signs before it fails. So when the shutter fails to click, it is the end. Always good to bring a spare, even if it is a point and shoot. Unluckily I spent 16 days in tasmania and this happen on my last 3 days. I got most of the best scenery. So it is not just the repair but what I would have missed.
