EN-EL25/EN-EL25A batteries, why doesn't Nikon do this?

The Pup is going on a photo trip this weekend. After she went through her primary and spare battery on our zoo trip yesterday, she was afraid she would run out of battery power on the long shooting days she will encounter this weekend. She decided to order an aftermarket battery, since she could get it delivered quickly. She ordered a K&F battery last night through Amazon since we have prime. It was on the porch this morning.

It has an interesting feature. A USB-C port on the battery itself. You can charge the battery using a common USB-C cord. That means being able to charge the battery in the car when out. Very handy. I noticed several aftermarket batteries have this. Hopefully this battery will perform well and be dependable, and Nikon won't pull an Apple and brick it with a future firmware update.

I would wager the K&F battery will be fine until it is tried out at some future time in a Z50III. That appears to be the pattern. Then the aftermarket makers clone a new controller chip, and that works until the next new camera....
