HAHA! This is actually a variation on an old anecdote from England I recall reading about some time ago. The story goes that at a posh dinner the decanter of port was passed around after the meal from one diner to the next in a clockwise fashion, as is traditional. However one particular guest turned out to be a teetotaler, a fact unbeknownst to the others. When he was offered the decanter, he said to that gentleman in a loud voice, "Sir, I would rather commit adultery than drink a glass of wine!" There was a stunned silence at this breach of etiquette, until the host spoke up and said, "Well sir, I think any of us would."
