Had a chance to get out of the office today.

I love the first one of the building. The second one… well it doesn't talk to me. I find it a little too dark and grainy.

Thanks Marcel. My monitor is an LED and it seems to be calibrated a little bright. I've been over compensating a bit. Also it was a pretty dark and wet morning and I had to bump the iso up to 800

Day 102 (12/4/2013)

There's a popular coffee shop near my work which always has a queue of patrons waiting for their coffee. It never ceases to amaze me the power of 'word of mouth' as it is tucked away in a lane, with barely enough room to walk let alone sit and drink your coffee.

Technically not a great photo but the best I can do today; busy, busy busy!

This is really awesome Dave!
I need a tutorial on how to do that pls :)

Thanks Whitelight.

There's a couple ways to do it. I use Nik Silver Efex for my b&w conversions. You can then select certain areas to expose the colour.

Alternatively in photoshop you create a black and white layer, then select the layer mask and with the paint brush tool paint the area you want in colour with black.

Plenty of YouTube videos explaining the process.

Day 104 (14/4/2013)

Another from the Friday. I was fascinated with the reflection bouncing off an adjacent building onto the front of this beautiful gothic building.

Day 105 (15/4/2013)

Very wet day today. I didn't feel up to going for a long walk. This is a florist who has a stall setup in one of the many laneways in our little city.

The rain was pretty heavy and I wasn't game to venture any further out to get a better angle.

Day 106 (16/4/2013)

In light of everything which happened in Boston yesterday, I wanted to do a shot which captured my feelings. As I thought about it, my mind kept going back to my kids, and the people who lost theirs. Thats why I went ahead with this shot of by son having fun, without a care in the world...God bless him.
