A family out for a walk and a flower

These hibiscus flowers make an excellent punch drink. It's very popular in Mexico and in the states that border MX. I've a buddy who's "invented" a drink with hibiscus and tequila (and a few other things) that is surprisingly good. But then again, tequila in just about anything is almost always good. :D

I go to the zoo a lot and I have never been able to get a shot of this guy that I like because of the bars you have to shoot through. I got this shot and loved the expression but had to crop to this to minimize the bars. You can still see one of them but still not to bad.

Don, great shot... so drawn to the eyes, never noticed the bar!! :)

It almost disappears. The zoo is a great place for me to walk and since I have a yearly pass I can go as often as I want. It is a two mile walk to make the circuit and it is mostly shady on the path. It takes me around an hour to do the walk so that is right at my limit with the replacement knee and bad back and general old age. I carry the camera and I generally only shoot when I see something interesting or like this shot when I am trying to shoot an animal that I have not been able to get before.

I have been to the zoo out here (small one) and I can shoot a ton of images when I go... Glad that they are "digital!" :)

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

I ended up shooting more 9th graders late afternoon. I case you were wondering why all the 9th graders my wife teaches 9th grade and she was put in charge of the Facebook page for the 9th grade academy. That is sort of like a school within a school. Since my wife does the facebook page she volunteered me to do all the photos. Happy Wife, happy life.

The football team had a late afternoon game and it should have been sunny and bright it was dark and cloudy. Here is what I got. Most of these shots are at ISO 1600 or 3200

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

I have been working on my Photoshop skills the past couple of months and occasionally I go back and pull a old photo up and start over on it. Here is the one for today. First the old shot

Now today's interpretation of it.

Nice football shots Don! That ISO works ok as long as you do not have to crop too deep. They look good!@~!
