Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

The little man of the house. Opie has to have his blanket before he can go to sleep.

My little sweetheart Sookie. Club Foot, shriveled leg and a heart that has nothing but love for her daddy (me)
Do you know how hard it is to focus on a black dog in a dark room?

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

Had two of my babies on last night so here is the last one. My wife and I were sitting in the den quietly when we both heard something. It was my sweet little girl Lucy snoring away on the couch. Here she is.

And Lucy and Sookie are both rescue dogs. Mistreated in there former lives and treated like the little princesses they are now. Opie is the old man of the group and he is about 13 years old now.

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

Someone was asking about fireworks earlier and that got me to thinking. For the last couple of years I have not been able to shoot any fireworks because of my work schedule. I either worked till 3am or had to go in at 4:30am either way late night shooting was out. The last ones I shot was in May 2011. I had just gotten My D3100 and I did not know it at the time but it had a bad focus problem that was later replaced. For the shoot I did shoot in RAW and JPEG. Never used the RAW but I found them today and went through and reedited them to see what they were like. I also shoot at ISO3200 and F16, What Was I thinking. Anyway here they are. I was 10 miles away on a hilltop shooting. The small dome you see to the left of the action is the State Capital building of Alabama

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

Those firework pictures looks really nice. I havent tried fireworks really, which aperture would you use now?

Haha, great!

I think I will start at ISO 400 - Aperture 5.6 - Shutter 2 sec

this is the same exposure as the ones earlier adjusted down for the ISO change. I will start at this point and look at it and adjust from there. The ones I will be shooting this July 4th I will be a block away instead of 10 miles so I will have to adjust several things.

Wow, 2 second, had no idea it should be that long. Maybe I should try fireworks at new year.

Its very interesting that you write your exif settings, I forget that.
