distasteful

I would not use that equipment even if I was alone in the desert amidst sand that matched it in every way and you gave it to me for nothing.

Now this is more like it....

Well maybe not, I'll just stick with basic black, thanks very much.

I like the desert ones. The white one is pretty slick, but if I owned it I think it would be gray after a few months.

Each to there own I say. What I like you may hate. What you like I may hate. Human nature it's called.

Lens coats give a similar look and they come in a wide variety colours and designs. Both my long zooms have an oak camo design one on. I like them as they add a bit of a personal touch and of course the main reason for them, is protection.

Do they make coats for camera bodies? Does the coat jam or bunch up as you change focal lengths?

They make whats called body armour for well, bodies. No, the lens cover has absolutely no effect on the lens. Only thing they do is cover the buttons like VR and AF/M. But it is very easy to access them through the cover. They are made of neoprene and are reversable from colour to black.

More than anything I admire his skill with an airbrush. Apparently he didn't pull it apart before spraying..

Personally I would love a gunmetal/titanium body & lens paint job.
