At 45 years old, i have finally given up the last of my film Nikons, FGs, EMs, Fs, all gone. Stepped into digital via a gift from wife, a new D5100. Love the camera but am learning that my old brain simply doesn't 'get' a lot of the new technology. So my problem, wanting to setup remote flash for portrait work etc. Have 2 YN-622C E-TTL triggers and a Yongnuo YN560-III speed light. Followed the translated Chinese directions to setup triggers, same channel, same group. Mounted one to hotshoe and other under speed light. Now I have literally zero idea how to set camera to fire flash. I have poured through camera manual, speed light manual and trigger manual to no avail. If there is a 6year old hacker that can provide guidance to an old guy, I would certainly appreciate it.The only positive sign is that with speed light on trigger, the speed light will fire when test button on TRIGGER is pressed however one trigger will not fire the speed light remotely. I work in an environment involving bad guys in far away places and guns so my skill set is not anywhere in the Venn diagram for digital photography.
Thanks for any help and kind support. I will also endure the ribbing and jokes about the drooling window-licker.
