I have done this with a Nikon Spotting scope in the past , most spotting scope manufactures offer an adapter that allows you to use your DSLR or Point and shoot camera with your spotting scope with the camera.

I haven't used my D90 to Digi Scope, but I have used my bridge cameras. Also cell phones are great digi scoping devices.

While I use digi scoping for very distant birds. It can be very hit or miss. and usually it is only good for reference shots.

I did digi scoping just messing around at a Buffalo Bills game. I had my compact Nikon and a small monocular. It worked OK for what it was.

We see it a lot with birders - mainly point and shoot stuff as the DSLR folks (like me) are carrying around 300mm w/ converters or long zooms. I've wanted to get a scope for my wife, so maybe this is my excuse. LOL

Alrighty, then, kind of what I wanted to know. Guess I won't run out and buy a svarowski digiscope . . . like I have $2000 burning a hole in my pocket.
