Did the D3300 originally have an articulating screen?

The fact that the one with articulate screen was quite more expensive points to its being D5300. Now where D3300 was noticed is what matters. If it was on the body embossed in Gold, then you have a point. If the lable was on the stand then the store just printed the wrong lable (but the right price).

Starting from Nikon Rumors, to Nikon official news, there never was any indication that the D3300 would come with an articulate display. That was for the D5xxx series only, and on no other series in past and in current production.
Quoted for Great Truth.

Wow. I've never used "SMH" before, but this thread...

SMH

"Doc" (do you mind if I call ya that? Guess it's too late now),

If you didn't want us to answer the question, why did you ask it here? Google has a wealth of information to be found if ya need, but asking here, then bashing those that took the time to answer... I'll do it again. SMH

Here's a simple solution, based simply on the desire to stop the silliness and get you help with the question you asked: Call Curries and bloody well ask them.

Thanks!

For the last time I didn't imagine this! Someone just said curries sometimes have models that nowhere else stocks for any number of reasons so it's possible it was that. Fps

Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist!:|
And applying that same logic you having a half-baked memory of a D3300 with an articulating screen, doesn't mean it *does* exist and extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. So what do we have in support of your sighting? Well, the simple fact of the matter is, regardless of how strongly you believe otherwise, there is *NOTHING* supporting your alleged D3300 with an articulating screen. Absolutely nothing. Not here, not any reliable industry insider-site nor are there any returns on Google or Bing or Yahoo! search engines (I checked) that indicate such a thing ever existed. Not even a singular copy or prototype. It also flys in the face of Nikon's camera history.

Now, if all of that means nothing to you, and I imagine it does not, then I wish you good luck on your wild goose chase.

Whoever you get a hold of at Nikon will most likely give you a flat out, "No". The people who would answer your inquiry know nothing more then what is in print. I admire your persistence, but unfortunately you will never be able to prove that "you saw" a D3300 with a tilt/swivel screen. I doubt anyone else has either. As a matter of fact, this is THE first time i have ever read about someone "seeing" a D3300 with a Tilt/swivel screen. Ironic eh? It would be rude of me to say you are just trolling, but this thread does smell a bit fishy. If i were you, i would simply bow out and accept that perhaps you mistook a D5300 for a D3300. As i said before, it's an innocent mistake ;)

Here let's put it to rest. Everyone is trying to beat a dead horse.

If you do not believe anyone but yourself in what you had in your hands I am sure that Nikon would beg to differ.

Articulating screens
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D5300
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D5200
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D5100
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D5000

Non-articulating screens
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D3300
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D3200
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D3100
Nikon | Imaging Products | Nikon D3000

I know what I saw. Ffs I'm not saying I saw a ufo or Michael Jackson wandering around a graveyard with fangs. I had the thing in my hand for a good ten minutes so I think I'd have picked up on it not having D3300 written on it!

You guys are all so in the loop though..

I saw Elvis!! I really did!

Obviously, not the real Elvis Presley. But, at least i have a some kind of proof that i saw "Elvis". The probability of you seeing a D3300 with an articulating screen is next to nil. The probability of you mistaking a D5300 for a D3300 is much, much higher.
