Demystifying? D750 Auto Iso

Hello everyone,
I made a video, that shows how the AUTO ISO behaviour of the D750 can be controlled when using flash.
The video is not as good quality as I wanted but I hope still it will make my point clear.

What it shows in order is:
1. Auto-ISO with no flash, camera always pick same iso
2. AUTO ISO with flash. The number that is written below the word AUTO ISO looks to help camera decide on which ISO to pick.

Have a look and let me know if you want me to repeat the experiment.

I think when we turn the Auto ISO on, the camera does not automatically reset the base ISO to 100, instead it'd use whatever the ISO number that had been there (as the base) before the Auto ISO was turned on.

I never shoot flash with Auto ISO the camera takes over to much control over exposure unless you want it to act like a point and shootcamera.
You mentioned getting abundant light control with flash abundantis controlled with shutter speed so to get balanced light you should be inshutter mode not Aperture priority
Are you doing this testing Aperture priority @ f/10

But for me Auto ISO is never on.

Thanks for the answers.
So when you are inside a church and you want to blend flash with ambient what type of shutter speed you use?
If I get to the 1/60 region then I would just start to get blurred images.
I am just looking for a semi auto mode with flash where I can set on camera my background flash light ratios (roughly) and the camera pick the iso needed.
Why is this so hard with my d750?
