You need to do a triptych with the ones that Moabman took in the winter and get one in the autumn to finish the triptych. Or better still do a summer one of the orchard too and do a...... what is the word for four pictures together?

Cookie and Milk anyone?

Oreo pic 1 Site.jpg

I may not be posting for the next couple of days. I will be out of town. I am leaving Moab Man and the children at home while I run away with a bunch of teacher friends on a history workshop. I sure hope they are good while I am gone. I will be taking my daily photos and I will post photos when I get back if I don't have access to internet. I am heading off to Carbon County Utah.

You know what they will be eating while you are gone. :)

Here is today's photo.

This is a picture of the Thistle Landslide in Utah 30 years ago.

There used to be a small mining down here before the landslide.

They have never rebuilt the town

This is the turn style entrance to the cementary at Castle Gate Cemetery Many of the coal miners are buried here that died in the Castle gate disaster on March 8 ,1924. Is the turn style entrance to keep the spirits in or to keep me out because cemeteries petrify me.

I did not have access to the interent until late yesterday, and I was also exhausted from my traveling back home. I came home and fell asleep. Below are the photos and the story from the photo's of the day.

The photos are of tributes to the miners that lived in Kenilworth, Utah.
The mine closed in 1973 and the people of the town were able to buy their house from the company. Kenilworth, Utah was a company town, that was owned by the mine. Below is a picture of what is left of the company store. Seeing this puts a new meaning to the saying "I owe my life to the company store.:

Below is a picture of a monument that honors the coal miners that mined the coal from the mountain. Coal miner is truly becoming a relic of the past. I am almost sure that most of my students in my class don't understand that the men that risk their life in a dangerous coal mine are a valuable part of producing the power that we all consume.

Below is a picture of a model train set that shows what a mining town may of once looked like nestled in the safety of the mountains.

THE INTERNET CAN BE A FRIEND OR NOT. FOUND THIS ON ADDING TEXT. Adding text to images using LR PICASA, A FREE DOWNLOAD, CAN ADD TEST TO YOUR PHOTOS.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I became very frustrated with light room so I switched to photoshop. I am finding that program much easier. However, I appreciate you help. Thank you for answering the questions. I know some may enjoy Lightroom, I am not saying it is a bad program. It is just not the right fit for me.
