Thanks, Roy! They're definitely quite timid. One out of ten will sit long enough for me to get off just a couple shots. Can't wait to get my 500mm, so I don't have to get so close for the shot.

Tried out the new tripod. Too darned cold out to keep shooting. Needed to speed up the shutter to about 15-20 secs to get rid of the movement. On a positive note ... the Hakuba carbon tripod is awesome!

First ever HDR attempt. Used Luminance HDR to put together and touched a little in LR5. Definitely needs improvement, but it's a start. Didn't do a great job of handholding the bracketed shots. I'll be returning for a better set there and using my tripod for the next attempts as well.
