Preview from today. Spent an hour or so at Crab Orchard Lake in Southern Illinois. Not many good shots as we weren't in a great spot, but did see that there are a ton of waterfowl there. The wildlife refuge is on the MUST return list in the next couple weeks. Cormorants and several other birds are migrating through.

One of three 6 shot vertical panos taken handheld with horizontal shots. Even without much water left, Fern Clyffe in Southern Illinois is a beautiful location.

I'm glad you said they were 6 shots panos. Gives some indication of how high that rocky cliff is. That's the thing photos often miss....an indication of size and scale. Looks like a lovely spot. Must look really great with water going over :D

Thank you. It is really hard to tell from the final shot just how large it was. I'll have to process a shot with some people in it to help scale it. These were all taken at 35mm with about 1/4 overlay on each shot. The top of the falls cliff is just over 100ft high.

Another for size comparison. This one by the FIL as we had crossed over to the lower falls level. Notice me (5'10") next to the fallen log; then check out the pano again. Gives it a whole new perspective. Next time I really will try to have something in the shot to help with scale when doing the vertical stacks.
