Still plotting my entry into the lake areas. This "South Lake" has an access via an almost mowed levy. Unfortunately, it's not a quiet path to walk on by any stretch. Going to have to plan a cooler day to walk in and park myself for a few hours to wait the birds out to return. The "North Lake" has so far proven virtually impossible to access anymore without some serious trekking through some deep and gnarly weeds and swampy wooded areas. Will take some snake boots and a LOT of bug spray to make that trip.

Thanks a lot, Ron. Really appreciate it. I'd have to agree with you on both sets. Been so frustrating not being able to get in close for some good bird shots yet. Getting closer to the South Lake, but there's at least 20 times more birds on the North. Finally got permission this week to walk the adjacent Port Authority property to try to get around to the other side, but it doesn't appear to be any clearer of an entry. These lakes were so big and maintained beautifully when I was a kid. The original owners of the rock quarry and these lakes used them as private fishing lakes for their employees and families. It was like a fishing country club. Now the lakes are owned by the new Italian owners of the quarry who felt it was too high of an expense and liability to keep them open and in use.

Another long day .... definitely a double Monday. Ugh. All I brought to the table today is a moon shot from just a bit ago. Want to shoot something else, but I'm just wiped out and need to veg'.
